  1. Jose Mauricio Nunes Garcia was born in Rio de Janeiro
  2. at 22th july 1767. He was member of the S. Pedro dos Clerigos
  3. Fraternity. Since 1798 he was choir-master at Cathedral of
  4. Rio de Janeiro and comissioned by the Senate to write music
  5. for official events. Padre Jose Mauricio is  considered the
  6. most important brazilian composer of his time. He died in
  7. extreme poverty at 18/4/1830. Gradual de  S. Sebastiao was
  8. composed in 1799.
